(Krilo Jesenice) Split-Hvar – Pomena (NP Mljet) – Dubrovnik – Korčula – Bol – Jelsa – Split (Krilo Jesenice)

Split

The second largest town in the Republic of Croatia; the urban, cultural and traffic centre of Dalmatia. Officially, Split is more than 1700 old, but there are archaeological findings that go deeper into history, and there is clear evidence about the population of the peninsula. We can link Split to the ancient Greeks or the Aspalathos colony, the Illyrian Delmati tribe and finally to the Roman emperor, Diocletian who provided today’s Split with its foundations by constructing a palace similar to a Roman military fortress, close to the Adriatic Sea. The old town centre has been included in the UNESCO world heritage list since 1979 and is a real magnet for the numerous tourists. The famous Riva is a gathering place for all Split inhabitants, and is a connection between past and present, a place where our elders narrated sea stories and slandered neighbours with a temperament and dišpet (spite) that only Split knows.

Hvar

It is the largest town on the island of Hvar, and one of the most famous and visited tourist destinations in Croatia. The island is known as the sunniest part of the Croatian coast. Do not forget to visit the various monuments such as the fortress Fortica, the cathedral of Hvar, the Hvar theatre (one of the oldest public theaters in Europe), the Franciscan Monastery and many other monuments. Hvar is a city where the older guests can enjoy a peaceful vacation enriched with cultural events, while the young crowd can sip their cocktails, and has fun at “after beach” parties and nightclubs.

Pomena (NPMljet)

The Mljet National Parkstretches over almost 5300 hectares, including a marine area of 500 meters from the coast, islands and cliffs, and therefore spans over almost a third of the island. Two deep bays filled with seawater, known as Malo Jezero and Veliko Jezero (Small Lake and Great Lake) are the most famous locations of this area and an important geological and oceanographical phenomenon.

The entire surface area of the park is extremely rich with life, and numerous endemic and endangered species are a testament of the importance of protecting it. The Mljet NP will not disappoint the fans of cultural heritage either, thanks to its numerous archaeological finds and the heritage of our ancestors present in the old island settlements. The Benedictine monastery located at one of the most beautiful locations in these areas, on the island of St. Mary on Veliko jezero is also the most visited location of the National Park.Visiting the Mljet National Park is a special and unique experience for all fans of nature, culture, old traditions and the Mediterranean air, all year round.

Dubrovnik

A stunning city, the “pearl of the Adriatic” made of stone and light in 1979 became part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located in the extreme south of the Republic of Croatia, the city is like an open palm under the stars, and his history is long and remarkable

Dubrovnik has known initially as Ragusa. It had one of the most developed navies in history, and many forces fought to conquer it. But Dubrovnik managed to keep its freedom with its cultural sights and walls that served to defend the city. After being hit by a great earthquake in 1667 and then a fire that destroyed an outstanding cultural treasure, Dubrovnik managed to preserve its beautiful Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque churches, monasteries, palaces and fountains.

Korčula

The sixth largest island in Croatia, Korčula is 20 miles long and rather narrow, between 4 and 5 miles wide on average. This island is known for its dense forest and the ancient Greeks called the island Black Korcula (Kerkyra melaina) for this reason. The town is known as a “mini-Dubrovnik” because its Old Town is similar. One of Korcula’s more unusual claims to fame is that it was the supposed birthplace of Marco Polo.

Bol

Bolis situated on the southern part of the island Brac, and is the oldest town on the coast of Brac. This little town was founded long ago and became an extraordinary tourist oasis because of the wide gravel and sandy beaches which expands over 10 km and the sources of drinking water. It is not possible to avoid the Zlatni rat, certainly the most beautiful beach on the Adriatic sea.

Krilo Jesenice

Krilo Jesenice is small Croatian tourist destination located between Split and Omis. It’s calm place ideal for spending summer vacation for all those who primarily want to enjoy swimming and sunbathing. There are no major nightclubs in the place, which is great for those who want to get peaceful sleep during the night.
